Cloth mask

Reusable fabric masks are not designed to block ultra-fine particles such as virus-carrying aerosols, but they do capture larger respiratory droplets, so they are better than others. They also have the advantage of being washable-preferably in soapy water higher than 60C (140F)-to reduce waste.

Antibacterial mask

Some FFP2 masks, such as washable multi-purpose masks, are coated with silver chloride and claim to destroy 99 percent of viral particles within two hours. This does not disinfect the incoming air, but it can reduce the risk of contracting the virus on your hands and transferring the virus to other places. Because the coating of the mask can also kill bacteria and fungi, it can also reduce the risk of "mask".

The quality of the filter, including the static charge on the fiber that improves the performance of the mask, may decrease over time. After washing hands in a mild detergent of 40 degrees Celsius for 100 minutes, the mask's ability to filter 0.3-micron particles decreased from 98.7% to 96%, which means it still meets FFP2 standards.

Rewear a disposable mask

Although this is not said on the packaging, many mask experts claim that it is safe to re-wear a disposable FFP2 mask-as long as you take some precautions: only re-wear your own mask; if you have been in close or prolonged contact with the infected person, or if it shows any signs of blockage, difficulty breathing, or the belt or mask is deformed-which means it is no longer tightly sealed, please discard it. And decontaminate it between clothes. To do this, you should hang it in a clean and dry place (instead of on the radiator) or store it in a breathable paper bag for 5 to 7 days and wear a different mask.

Do not spray alcohol or disinfectant on the mask, which may damage the fiber or damage the lungs, or place the disposable mask in a washing machine, drum dryer, microwave or hot oven, or damage the fiber. Studies have shown that collapsible FFP2 masks can be safely decontaminated by heating them in an 80 degrees Celsius oven for 60 minutes or by sealing them in a freezer bag and boiling for 10 minutes-although elastic bands may become damaged and should be checked.
