Mask China
Aerosols and fine particles are the two most dangerous health risks in the working environment, but our eyes are often difficult to detect. Next, let's take a look at how ffp2 masks work.
The importance of respiratory protection
Dangerous particles may cause cancer or may be radioactive; other damage to the respiratory system. Decades of contact can lead to the development of serious diseases. At best, all workers face an unpleasant smell. The filter mask provides three types of protection against waterborne oily aerosols, smoke and fine particles during work. Its protective function conforms to the European Union standard EN 149. These masks, also known as particle filter half masks or fine particle masks, are classified as FFP1, FFP2 and FFP3 protection grades.
How does the Ffp2 mask work?
The particle filter mask can effectively prevent dust, fog and smoke. Densely woven filter cloth prevents the passage of solid substances, and the inner layer is electrostatic to ensure that harmful substances are attached to them and will not be inhaled. The classification system consists of three FFP classes, and the abbreviation FFP stands for "filter mask". The breathing mask covers the mouth and nose and is composed of various filter materials and the mask itself. They must be used in a work environment that exceeds the occupational exposure limit (OEL). This is the maximum concentration of dust, smoke and / or aerosols we breathe in the air and does not harm our health. If there is any violation, you must wear a gas mask.
What can Ffp2 masks prevent?
Depending on the total leakage and filtration of particles up to 0.6 μ m, FFP2 respirator masks provide respiratory protection for pollutants of all concentrations. The total leakage is based on the penetration of the filter and the leakage in the oral and nasal area. Thanks to innovative filter technology, respiratory resistance can be kept to a minimum, and the intercepted particles in the filter will not aggravate breathing after being worn many times.
The protective grade FFP2 respirator mask is suitable for working environments where harmful and mutagenic particles are contained in the breathing air. Such respirator masks must contain at least 94% of the maximum 0.6 μ m particles and can be used in environments that violate the OEL with a maximum concentration of 10 times. The same is true of the TRK value (technical reference concentration). Protective grade FFP2 respirator masks are often worn in the metal and mining industries. Workers in these industries are often exposed to aerosols, fog and smoke, which can lead to respiratory diseases, such as lung cancer. Most importantly, they are at great risk of secondary disease and active tuberculosis.
